There’s no shortage of fancy events this fall in Calgary but LOOK2014 is definitely not one to be missed. Calgary’s iconic Centennial Planetarium comes back to life on November 1 for an unforgettable night supporting Contemporary Calgary, a new organization (formed through the merger of the Art Gallery of Calgary, the Museum of Contemporary Art Calgary and the Institute of Modern and Contemporary Art) dedicated to celebrating modern art in Calgary. Presented by Holt Renfrew and with support from Enbridge and the Calgary Herald, with honorary Event Chairs Ann & Morris Dancyger, and Mark Tewksbury & Rob Mabee, LOOK2014 is going to be a super chic event unlike many others.

Partygoers can look forward to an art inspired menu by Hotel Arts’ Duncan Ly, Calgary’s best DJs (DJ Rice and Mickey Da Roza), live music by vocalist Jocelyn Alice and contemporary art experiences. It will also be an opportunity for art collectors to add to their collections and bid on auction items by acclaimed artists like Chris Cran, Edward Burtynsky and Danny Singer, and specially crafted travel packages, including to destinations such as the Venice Biennale, New York City with accommodations at the legendary Plaza Hotel and Fogo Island. These are incredible experiences one couldn’t purchase on their own – they’re one-of-a-kind curated packages designed specifically for LOOK2014.

VIP ticket holders will be treated to an exclusive experience featuring best-selling author, speaker and urban visionary Richard Florida, in a fireside chat hosted by Dave Kelly. And all attendees can also look forward to two incredible door prizes – a $10,000 (TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS!) shopping spree from Holt Renfrew for premium ticket holders and two tickets to anywhere WestJet flies for VIP ticket holders.

What about the fashion? Well, the dress code is cocktail chic but you should also think contemporary – and fancy. This is going to be an event where one can definitely step it up and make a statement – the possibilities are endless. After all, that’s what art is all about. Some contemporary and fancy LOOK2014 outfit ideas are included below.

So don’t miss LOOK2014 for an unforgettable night and be a part of Calgary’s future art scene from the beginning. Tickets are $250 premium ticket holders and $500 for VIP ticket holders and can be purchased here and by phone at 403.770.1351.
